Looks like New England is getting a couple feet of snow starting this afternoon. Supermarkets are jammed, gas station lines resemble the ones we saw in the 70's. I stocked up on Dunkin Donuts coffee and propane for the camp stove.
It's almost uncomfortable watching the weather folks talk about it, they are so excited. Should make for some rare photo ops though, good luck to all my neighbors.

Hmph. I think I'll have to stay in Florida a couple extra days before heading home...

Good idea Wallace .. not going to be good in NS at all. Lots of snow, freezing rain, 60 mph winds for 2 days .. I suspect major power outages in my area (SW Nova Scotia).

Thanks, what a welcome home that'll be :( NS power has a not-so-great record in my area too.

I'm watching to see if it will get in the way of my getting out of here!

Early Saturday flight out of Ottawa, watching to see what will happen with incoming crews and gear that would affect the flight.

The connection in Vancouver is the issue, these flights sell out long in advance and will be difficult to get rebooked.

Waiting is all we can do.

I am a few miles north of NYC, and we are getting a lot of snow. And they say it is going to snow much heavier around midnight till 6 am.
The good part is I love snow. I just hope we do not lose power.

just a few of my thoughts...

On Feb 2nd, 1978 I moved to Boston from Kalifornia to work for DEC. Had no idea storms like that could happen...

Ouch, I can only imagine how you must of been shocked and now you look back and you can say you were there for once of the worse storms in our generation.

Just spoke to my neighbours in Nova Scotia. 60 cm (24 inches) on the ground, roads not plowed yet, but the neighbours have plowed out my driveway to the lady feeding my cat can get in :)

Monday at 4:30PM got power back on, I can't count how many times I walked into a room and flipped the light switch, creature of habit. I have a gas fireplace, took the glass off the front, it heated the livingroom to about 58 so thats where my wife and I spent most of our time.
