The game will last 7 Days and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.
Feel free to comment and/or ask questions at any time. This is a good competition for learning new methods, so let's make it a bit more dynamic. I will be judging edits, not comments. Feel free to comment on the original image as well.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #460."

Submissions end Friday, February 15th, 2013 at 7:30pm GMT and a winner will be announced.

Here is a link to a RAW File for those who would like one. Looks like a cloning exercise this week folks ....

I did way too much here to be able to do a write up, but in short, I cloned, made a bunch of layers, painted, and blurred areas to get the effect of no railings. I also cropped it in Photoshop because I was getting tired of editing the image... lol

adjusted the exposure, HDR finish, did a few other little things, I'm fairly new to editing so I'm terrible at remembering everything I have done. Guess I should start writing it down as I go.

Lots of clone stamp tool usage removing the braces for the chain fence, distractions in the gravel, and a decent amount of time recreating where the sign used to be. Level adjustment and tonality change, slightly boosting the highs, mids and darks. Masked entire white sky and after removing, dropped in a new one with a tiny bit of blue (that still fit the image).

Magic lantern'd T2i, a 1d2n, 15-85, rokinon 8 and 85mm, nikon 55 f1.2, sigma 24mm f1.8 and Tokina 400mm creeperPrime.

auto adjustments in LR to convert to tif
faux-HDR for the sky, layered at about 50% opacity in PS6
removed dust
bumped saturation a touch
removed dust
did things the signs told me not to
cropped it at 5x7 with a border to use as a postcard.

Here goes guys - thanks for the variety this week.

Brandon Perkins - I like the de-cluttered version and the crop - good edit.

yb98 - Lovely B&W Conversion and super sharpening technique. Would like to have seen what you would have done with the clutter...

jpkeokee - The Faux HDR is an interesting look - It's difficult to write every step down - you tend to get carried away a bit and then can't remember - I know I can't.

Dawicka2 - good cloning and colour treatment - I like this.

T3 Heavy Shop - He's living dangerously there on the end of the barrel, do I sense a rebellious character? The crop is quite tight but works in the postcard.

My choice this week, simply because I was looking for a clean up job is Dawicka2
. Remained faithful to the colours and therefore just edged Brandon. Well done to yb98 for the B&W though.
