"One of these things is not like the other" says the Sesame Street song. I think this week's challenge is going to be fun. I'm looking for strange pairings, Ironic Juxtaposition.

3. Size - Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting - * ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.* Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & lens used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
8. Have questions, PM me.
9. Have FUN!

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.
* Posting Ends -10:00 p.m. EST Monday, February 18, 2013.

Good luck everyone.

I just think this is incredibly funny: Luxury Homes sign next to dilapidated mobile home.

Let's see what you've got. Good luck and have fun.

Great entries, everyone. It was difficult to pick a winner, so I went to the "jury" and asked my wife for help. Hope that doesn't get me in trouble with you all. But first, my comments:

Scatterbrained: A true sign of where the world has gone. I like the composition, and the moon in the upper left adds a nice touch.
Flo: What sign? Indeed. Also good composition and definitely has the "cute" factor.
Airfrogusmc: More similarities than differences, but still a good example of juxtaposition. I love the feel of this shot and the B&W adds to that well.
Kevan: Nice lighting and I like the bokeh.
kbColorado: While you have demonstrated the concept of contest, I'm sure you have broken at least one law of the highlands by placing diet Coke so close to the "nectar of the gods" (I preferred Macallan in my days.);)

So now the results. Second place goes to Flo, because I love that little puppy, even though by your admission, he/she's much bigger now and apparently quite a trouble maker. (This shot would attest to that).

And the winner is - Airfrogusmc. I just keep going back to this one. I'd love the hear the story behind it.

Thanks, everyone for playing. Looking forward to the new challenge.

Oh wow thanks. I will get a new challenge up soon.

Here ya go

https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=15626847#post15626847

I was just walking by a bar in the Wicker Park neighborhood in Chicago and I saw this guy at the bar through the open window adjust his body and it looked exactly like the paining on the wall behind him. I am always looking for repeating shapes, leading lines and other visual elements so when this happened I was prefocused so I just very quickly framed it and shot. As soon as I took the image he moved his body and I had moved slightly and there was no longer a photo.

Congrats Flo and Allen! Allen, that is one of my favorites of the shots you've shared.

Thanks philk54 for the challenge and taking the time to comment on each entry.

Nice going, Allen; terrific image indeed. A Lot of excellent entries this week.

Mine was a bit of a stretch, per the topic, I realize that. I had just been outside shooting the icicles, and was jazzed by the color and focus effects so...to explain myself, those are trees in the background, growing up, while the icicles...well, you know.
