this time of the year the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley see a lot of foot traffic.. It's hard to find pristine sand without a lengthy hike...
You don't get nearly as much in the summer months....

I would rather endure 120 degree heat than encounter trampled scenes. I had to stop and find shade under a big greaswood a couple of times this summer... An hour hike back in may take two hours to get back out... Star Dune .... Got some cameras; got some glass ..... I just need one more of each.....

Although it may be further to get to that in itself lends to less people being there. Now if you have an off-road vehicle then get out to Saline Valley. 6D & G5X
