We were in Mammoth Lakes for skiing and the day was calm and clear, so I decided to get up the next morning and drive to Mono Lake to see what the dawn looked like. It was cold (well,... 2 degrees F is cold to Californians) and calm. I didn't want to bore you with the whole set so my wife picked out her two favorites.

It was amazing how quickly the colors changed as the sun rose higher, and how little wind it took to cause ripples.

Very nice reflections, specially #2.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.

Thanks again everyone. Actually, I prefer the composition of the first one better too, but it has more ripples.

Awesome light in this unusual landscape location. ...at least unusual compared to here in the Appalachian Mountains.

Like the comp of 1, but those reflections in 2 are cracking. Well worth getting up early.
