It polarizes better. There's less weird tints. Their glass is flatter. The MRC coating is great optically, but is simple amazing mechanically. They're made in germany if it matters.

And generally the company has a reputation of making excellent products.

A 77mm polarizer for 50 bucks would generally give you a major tint and probably be single coated.

I bought Marumi as well and am very happy with mine. I'm not sure $50 will get you anything but a waste of $50 at 77mm. If you can spend $100, you can get Marumi or maybe even single coated B+W.

I got my Hoya Pro1 CPL (77mm) for $12 with Amazon Prime (price mistake, but they honored it)...so I love it.

But I also have a KSM that I paid full price for. Price aside, I prefer the KSM. Considering price, I prefer the Hoya. :D

OP- I have a 77mm B+W CPL that I would sell to you for $70 PPal and shipped. It's single coated, but in flawless shape. Let me know if you're interested. FYI I also have 77mm B+W UV and Hoya Pro-1 UV that I would sell too.

Not near as expensive as some. And the reviews have been very positive.

That is really cheap. A few months ago, it was $150 for 77mm. Highly recommend B+W KSM CPL filters.
