I like this. The simple colours and the texture... and the story....
"Any mail today?" Gotta drive 5 dusty miles out to the highway to check me Royal mail box.

Nice pic Carzee, the drum was obviously getting too beaten up for use as a drum and so was a natural for a mailbox, well shot.......that would make a good thread, mailbox's........... probably been done already though.

When I shot it - the idea was the matching colour of the old tin and dead weeds. Now on the monitor you can see the paint scratches reveal patches of bluey-green undercoat which also matches: in the dead weeds there is almost identical blotches of bluey-green too.

ps---- it looks alright in monochrome too.

Here's another one I like. handheld roadside shot of the ol' place at Brewongle nr Bathurst... backstory here ---- I was 9-10-11 years old here and the owner was a my "male role model". After those years there we moved down to the coast.
BIG VERSION here (external link) ---135L shot.
I have'nt been thru this gate and into the hills behind since he passed away and the place was sold around 1979.
