Hi Everyone,

Have just discovered this site and read many posts and found it very interesting!

I have a question, I just got a 20D, i have a problem, all the functions on the camera work perfect, when i switch to M or AV, the top LCD goes blank, i can access White balance and ISO while switch to these modes, but when i exciting the setting (iso for example) the LCd goes blank again. All the other creative and auto modes work fine.

I also upgraded to 2.0.3 to see if this would fix it.

Any ideas? or do i have to go back to Canon?

Just curious...are you sure the mode dial is not between modes somehow.

i dont believe so, like i said, every other mode works perfect, just not these two modes. the camera will take a photo in these two modes, but i cannot change the settings, because the top lcd panel is blanked.

I'd definitely send it back, that's not right.

There are a few things you could do before you send it back, such as removing all the batteries (including the small main battery), the lens, and then letting it sit for an hour or so before putting the batteries back in and resetting the camera functions. There's a slim change this might resolve the problem for you, but I think you're going to wind up sending your camera back to Canon.

That does not sound right. I would return/exchange it.

Would upgrading to the latest firmware help with this kind of problem?
