Not really sure where to put this, but I thought it was an interesting display. A foggy day, I took a walk and along the way snapped a couple of shots of water droplets on tree branches. The light was pretty poor, it's rainy and foggy here, temp about 45'. This was the 6D and 24-105 lens. I resized the original RAW shot to 1024x682, and then cropped the original down to 1024x682, and then took a ZOOM of the original even closer. What I thought was interesting was the water drop. You can actually see the tree branches in the REFRACTION. Taken from about a foot away, this probably doesn't prove much other than the almost unbelievable resolving power of today's DSLRs. But for anyone who thinks the 6D has a poor AF system, you might want to re-think that stance. Handheld, f/6.3, 1/125th, ISO 100, Auto WB, no other P/P

I also posted the uncropped, un-resized, original 20mb file straight from the camera , but have not linked it here in the interests of bandwidth conservation. It' s on my Flickr page with the other three.

As I said, I'm not sure what this proves one way or another, but I thought it was somewhat amazing.

For an "indoor" take on the technique go to http://edkphoto.wordpress.com …/12/water-drops-on-glass/ (external link).

Regarding AF, that raindrop actually provides a pretty easy AF target, due to the concentrated contrast in the droplet.

Dew and rain drops make for great photographic subjects!

Also, it's not really a reflection. It's actually refraction. The drop is acting like a small lens and you are seeing what is on the other side of the drop of water.

Although i agree with you that the 6d probably doesnt have as bad a AF system as most say, to really test the AF system you would need to shoot fast moving subjects, and then do so using a focus point other than the middle.

But if you dont plan to regularly shoot fast moving objects with focus points other than the middle, then the 6d seems like a wonderful camera. And im sure the AF is plenty good for what most of us are after.

100% true. I was going to bring that up earlier but decided not to for some reason.

Now if I had that drop inside a room of mirrors shot at f22, I would have a diffracted refracted reflection. :)

In the interests of accuracy, I've adjusted the title and text. It's all good. :)

You could contact the forum staff and ask them to change the actual title of the thread. What's changed now is simply the title shown on the first post.
