Nice colours in the sky, but for me there is far too much black, I would loose 3/4 of it.

Agree ^^^. #1 rule in landscape photography is to not put horizon in center of frame. I think it holds here. But I like the photo!

I'm not a huge fan of that rule, I follow it about 75% of the time but sometimes a centered horizon works well, and I reckon it works well here for the simple fact that too much dark foreground would have ruined the shot.

I was not aware of the landscape rule. I shoot mainly birds and wildlife, but starting to get into landscapes/sunsets since I'm on the road more now.

The slight change in moving the horizon helped in 2 ways.
1. moved the horizon from the center - it was not working
2. There was too much black negative space and you reduced it.

A much better image now.
