A good mate of mine who owns many great rally cars, some so rare he won't drive them, invited me to a closed lake ice rally session. The day is more like a bunch of his mates bringing out their cars (and one supercross bike) to a private lake. The lake owner clears out a track to their specs, complete with 'pit' run on to the track and trailer parking area.
We were racing on rally spiked tyres. And grip is immense with these type of tyres.
For those that have never seen this before and are wondering, the lake ice was about 35cm thick. Which does not seem much but is very strong. Temperature was about -5C
