Hello.
I am new here and I am excited to be part of forums for the first time. Thought I would start off my asking if anyone knows of some great locations in the Orange County area for some outdoor photoshoots. I am new to Cali and needing some help finding some of those perfect locations few know about:P

Thank you!

Julie, I don't know much about orange county but I'm located north of you in San Francisco.

In terms of location, you cant ask to live in a better place than California as there is contrast in both landscape as well as climate type. When I first moved back to the bay area from Orlando I troubled myself with the same question regarding locations to shoot. One thing I have found that has worked well for me is simply taking a drive and wandering the area, finding parks and scoping them out ahead of time so when you are shooting you have an idea of where you want to go next.

Another thing i've noticed is that areas that are "touristy" or draw visitors usually seem to also be awesome locations for shoots, for example in my area the golden gate bridge or some of the museums make awesome backgrounds and allow alot of contrast and posing help.

Good luck in the golden state :)

Hi Josh,

Thank you so much for all of the help. Really appreciate it. I have yet to find some really interesting parks in La Mirada, so I will be sure to venture out and keep on looking. Heading out to a couple of Beach's this week too, so we will see what I can find! Thank you so much for you help.

Julie

Hi Julie.

I see from your website that you're a fellow Canadian. From one Ex-patriot to another, welcome to the Golden State. Being in La Mirada, I take it your husband is attending Biola. One of my kids considered going there but ended up at Azusa instead. As a starter, that would be a great place to walk around looking for spots to shoot. My wife spent her highschool years in OC so I'll ask her if she has any suggestions as well. I know there are a few places we've been to that you would probably like. I'll see what I can find out.

Tale care.

Dale
