I will be going to Alaska on a cruise I have a canon 10d 17-40L and 70-200L and canon 1.4 converter. I would like some suggestions on what to purchase. I will have aprox $1400.00 do I get a new 20d or a long lens 100-400 L or

I'd agree that the 100400IS would be a very good choice. I strongly disagree that the 400f5.6 is "much sharper". I think for wildlife shooting in Alaska, you'll really appreciate the convenience and IS that the zoom will give you. Bring along a 1.4xTC too.

Some friends of mine went on a cruise in September and took a lot of landscape photos. Maybe a really nice wide angle prime? 10-22?
