Looking for a light stand to mount one of my 430ex ii flashes too. Stand must have adjustable legs for use on unlevel ground as one of its primary uses will be for motorsports photography and the ground beside the track that I shoot at the most is a hill. Main stand I've been looking at is the avenger A0030B with impact umbrella bracket and was just wondering if there is any others I should consider?

Thanks!

Have you looked at the Manfrotto Nano stands? I'm not sure they'd be better than the Avenger, but definitely less expensive. Some of those have the retractable legs that you require.

I'll look into them and see what I can find, Just checked on Manfrotto's web site and the only stand they show on there with the adjustable leveling leg seems to be the junior series stand but, It's about the same cost as the avenger stand. ($150-175)
