I know, I know...y'all are tired of kid pics. I'm really trying to get the hang of taking the bright/high-key pics. My hubby took a good shot of one of the twins this weekend, and since it was sunny today (and I like to use as much natural light as possible) I tried it by myself. Not an easy task with all 3 kids running around and trying to get a pic of just ONE! I didn't get any of Maddie that I really liked so I'm gonna have hubby give me a hand over the weekend to get a good one of Maddie. I did end up with one of my son, Nate, that I liked. And I added a couple of Maddie anyway. I love the first one of Maddie...technically it stinks. But I just love the expression on her face! LOL

Those are fantastic. Just needs slight touch up on her face.
What backgroud do you use? Just your wall? Or is it fabric? what?
Love them!

Thanks for looking and commenting! :) I really appreciate it!

The pic of my son was taken in front (but off to the side) of our front window.

The pics of Maddie, I just used a white king sized sheet. We have all the nice muslins and the stand and everything for them, but it's too hard for me to set up during the day by myself! And until we can afford to add a studio onto the house - well the sheet is it! LOL

Cool. So you want to do child photography or just of your kids for now and then pro later?
That is what I'd like to do. I do my kids now but am about to venture off to outdoor candids. :)
I live in Florida so it's always nice out for those shots and I find kids are happy to be outdoors so I capture great ones typically.
I'm about to purchase an indoor studio on a small scale for pictures like you took of your daughter. :) For more 'formal' photos. :)
Love your work-

My son used to scrinch his nose/face like that around the same age. I bought pro pics of him doing it-because it was so him at the time. They thought I was nuts for wanting it...idiots-they have no idea. :p
It was a crappy studio to say the least. :p (picture people-ugh-can't stand them)

Tracy - actually, no. I have no desire to do anything professionally...other than taking good quality, professional looking shots of my kids. LOL I do have a few friends that have inquired about getting me to do their kids' shots, but they all live far away (we're talking like halfway across the country) so it's not something that's likely to happen. I just want to improve my photography skills so that when we take the kids places (like the zoo, museums, etc.) that have difficult lighting conditions, I can get good pictures without "hoping" that I got a good one, KWIM? My hubby is doing some professional type stuff on the side right now (he posts here too) - he's much better at it all than I am. He understands the camera better and how to get what he wants. He tries teaching me but I'm slow at learning because I don't always have the time to fiddle with it due to the kiddies and other household responsibilities.

Anyway, got kinda long winded. Sorry. :) Anyway, thanks for looking and replying!

Peter - thanks for looking and replying! That's her typical "mommy has the camera" face! LOL

yeah, I am the same about just wanting good pics in general. I am not sure if I'll like doing other kids to be honest. My friends all want me to but sometimes it can be stressful because of the pressure and being that I am nowhere near a pro. JUst happen to have a decent camera and pro lens..which helps. But I'm basically on the same page as you really-and not sure if i'll do pro or not. We'll see.
