I went to the one back in May. They have classes, and also demostrations of newer products for photographers to try out.

In RI I just have it covered by renters insurance. I wasn't sure if it would cover my gear, but I asked and they (both Allstate and Liberty Mutual) said they will cover any of my belongings, in my home, or not. Granted, this is all non-professional, and there is a somewhat large $1000 deductible, but then again I'm not looking to insure individual pieces, but more the whole kit (fire/theft/etc). Canon 400D
