^ sounds about right. They also have 20% off SanDisk CF Cards too I believe. Well the owner was offering me money off to the same degree as the sale if I were to buy early...

Yeah, those higlights are on the slip ads I saw in the Metro. I'm wondering how good are the prices they label as "event special price," because those aren't advertised:

Hmm 10% off manfrotto, plus 6.25% = 3.75% savings. Add on Hunt's 'value add' vs. B&H and i'm still down -10%.

Just can't win with the locals...

Highlights of the Hunts sale:
20% off Lowepro, Crumpler, Tamrac, Thinktank

Tokina 11-16 2.8 $584.99 (good price for new)

10% off Adobe Products
($100 off lightroom with any DSLR)

15% off Sigma lenses
(trade in any brand lens, working or not get $50-$75 toward sigma lenses)

10% off Manfroto, Gitzo, Gary Fong

If that sigma deal is true.. I can get a 50mm 1.4 for $350 in NH?? if that's true.. I'm making the drive up or going to Cambridge Hunts..

bleh just found the linked ad.. 50mm is not on the list for trade ins and no 15% off.

2 lenses remain that I want to pick up to finish up my kit:
135L
85L or a 50L (I'd settle for the Sigma 50 too)

Get the 135 and 85. You can skip the 50.... it's nice, but not worth the cash IMO. The 50 1.4 will serve you just as well. (Assuming the motor doesn't go).

True.. i'm not very touchy-feely though. I don't mind buying stuff from B&H sight unseen. Maybe bags, i think bags i would have to try first.

right...

or tripods too. At least you can feel the weight and whether it is sturdy enough....

then go online and buy it. I'd buy from a local store, no problems, but i am not made of money, so I'd buy from B&H to save extra $$$

Eh, i'm a cheapie when it comes to tripods. Go figure.

When comparing the CF to ALU versions the weight difference is negligible. So i'll just end up picking up a Manfrotto aluminum version. I'm eying this guy: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …Aluminum_Tripod_Legs.html (external link)

We'll see what comes down the pipe. I just don't see spending double on the CF version, to save a measly 1.7 lbs. especially considering the other gear we carry which is not light.

Hey - nothing wrong with that. 40D is a great body... If someone can take an amazing photo with a 5DMKII, they can take an almost identical photo with the 40D as well.
