Not I. I wanted to go initially, but it sold out before I could get a ticket. So, I'm going to a wedding workshop istead. Have fun with Joe and David! Ask plenty of questions!

So back from day one of Sopha. Turns out I know a lot more about the ins and outs of wedding photography, I'm just missing the solid practice. Mostly in regards to portraits and proper use of off camera lighting.

Here's to hoping that tomorrow is more educational. Overall it was a good experience, just not quite as ground breaking as I thought it would be.

It was really good - but one thing I did notice was how confused so many people are about TTL - McNally must have been asked a dozen times if the commander light influenced the shot at all!

I wrote up a brief brain dump from the day if anyone is interested!

To put TTL into a comparison that some others might appreciate...

It's like asking a mechanic to explain how an automatic transmission works, without referencing a diagram. I was once told as a response: "it's a mix of black magic, voodoo and a large dose of pixie dust".

I can see how the confusion might arise fwiw. That said, once preflash is explained, the questions should stop... Should.
