I can see how the confusion might arise fwiw. That said, once preflash is explained, the questions should stop... Should.

Oh, I've beaten my head hard against the TTL wall a few times ("WTF? It wasn't blown out in the last frame ...") - but the pre-flash question kept coming up in new and inventive ways - you could tell McNally was ready to move on, when someone would say "Did the slave in the snoot do a pre-flash?"

I'd have lost it :)

McNally and Hobby were both extremely gracious. I was the high school freshman that couldn't fold up the reflector thingy :( You might remember that. I had a great time.

Yes, I remember that - I was one of the multitude shouting "twist it! twist it!" :p

So that was almost a complete waste of my time and money. I tried keeping an open mind today but I just did not learn anything today that wasn't already covered in yesterday's class. The class was not much more than things that a good photographer should already know, and how to apply it to a bride.

I'm not saying I know or knew enough to teach the class myself, so don't get me wrong. For someone who was completely new and was looking to get into second shooting, it was very educational. And for me it was a good refresher course for my upcoming bookings. We got the chance to experience using an ab800 on a stand, with a mini vag and a soft box that was too small. No gels, no softness. Certain parts of the class dragged on for way too long, the locations werent well planned so the driving to and from took away from the schedule.

I could go on, but I won't. This class was not worth MY time or money. I would much rather have PAID to be a second shooter, or even an assistant for a few weddings instead. At leat then I would get to do things in real time and be forced to think on my feet.

Ah well. Here's to my next workshop endeavor...

Let me be clear - the workshop just wasn't for me. For the right candidate (someone who is literally starting out and needs a taste of things, or to get their feet wet) this could be a fantastic class. However, since I have some weddings under my belt, combined with the sheer amount of research I have done over tha past 6 months, this class felt redundant and not much more than a refresher course for things I already had knowledge about.

Again, I'm not saying that I could take phenomenal photos prior to the class - but I do feel that I possess a level of understanding (not application!) that exceeded the scope of the class.

The company he uses is the same one that makes his GPS.

What was the verdict on watermarking images that we send to Alexis? I am going to get those ready to send today and wanted to make sure before I did it.

Jeremiah: Use the watermark for the picture of her that you'll be posting on your site. We have decided not to label the watermark on the ones we're going to send to Alexis.

TY.
