Weird question but do any of you guys ave an "in" with Quixote Studios, and if so, any chance you could give me some quotes about using some space? A PM is fine if you'd rather not say inline.

Thanks

Ok it's looking like September 11th and 12th. He'll be in Vegas for Photoshop World with Kelby on the 7-8-9th. Flying out on the 10th.

So if anyone is interested, and a little backstory... We did another workshop similar to this back in April 2010. We did it in a small studio in NYC. (Much smaller than mine). It was the first official one that Frank did here and we did run into some snags with everyone shooting simultaneously and such, but we've worked that out.

Frank will be doing some focused teaching on lighting and light theory. I *believe* don't quote me on this, but i believe he'll be doing a larger class on Sunday and a smaller class on monday for more personal attention. Either way he's a fantastic teacher as being sponsored by Canon and Kelby videos would suggest.

I learned just about everything i know on lighting from just 6 hours with him one day. Seeing it is a lot different than reading about it. Even compared to videos, doing it and dealing with environments and real time problems, there just isn't a substitute for that.

Check out his portfolio:

He teaches everything and hides nothing. Great person to learn from. Once we finally solidify everything, I'll put up a link. Last year, everyone paid him through paypal. I suspect he'll do the same again. I forget what he charged last year, but he'll fill me on pricing soon enough. Suffice to say the smaller class was more expensive than the larger class. It was also a more advanced level.

I'll be updating everyone soon.

cool, may actually be able to make this one Brendan.

I talked to a dude Nick over there. They are more interested in dealing with high end things over there. I suspect they will be out of business in 2 years. They are only really wanting to deal with high end shoots and movies/commercials.

I told them they should open up to the small fries for additional income during the slow periods, but he never seemed overly interested. That's all i know about them.

Brian, you should totally come out. I think it'd be very inspiring.

I need some help locally please - looking to borrow some relatively chunky light stands that I can trust my Alien Bees on. My current ones are just piss poor past 6' and I don't trust them near people.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

You can borrow two of my Avenger A0040CS stands. They are heavy as hell. I was just using them at 13' the other day, so they go plenty high. Tonight would be a good night to pick them up as i'll have sporadic access to my place in the next few days.

Generous. You're officially awesome.

I'll text or call before I shoot down. How late is too late?
