Ive been having this issue from last couple of events where I started using einsteins as off camera flashes.. basically what happens is:

about an hour or so into the event one of the einstein starts flashing marginally before the other one (i.e. they both go out of sync)... once I walk upto them and turn them off and back on.. they get back in sync again for another hour or so (roughly)... has anyone else had this issue with their einsteins?.. is there a fix?

Im asking this because I usually place them both directly opposite to each other facing the dance floor... so if one goes off even milliseconds before the other, I get some shadows on one side of the face of subjects which don't look flattering.

What triggers are you using? Are both of your strobes using a trigger? Or are you triggering one, and relying upon the optical trigger on the other? It sounds more like one of the strobes simply isn't firing, rather than the strobes firing at different times.

Using 2xCST on my cameras (2 bodies).. and using the CSRXB or whatever they are called on the strobes.. the ones which have pins at the bottom and you plug them on top of the strobes.

Slave mode is off

It doesn't sound like your problem, but I sure have had weird problems when batteries were a bit low in the transmitter.

Seems fussy that way and so far when I put in newer batteries the weirdness went away. Kind of hate it as when I measure the voltage on the "old" batteries it's not usually that bad.

I agree with swapping receivers though and see what happens.

Asking this on the Buff tech forum, or by calling Buff customer service would probably get it resolved a lot faster than posting here.

I use Einsteins with the same receivers and triggers and have never had that problem. I suspect its something in one of the lights. Do you have them marked so you can tell if its always the same light?
Do you have the receivers marked so you can tell if the problem moves with the receiver?

Those are all standard trouble shooting techniques.

I've experienced the weirdness with a low battery in the transmitter.

Thinking about it later, I agree it sounds more like a light not firing.

Or it would take alot more difference in timing than milliseconds.

Did you ever figure it out?
