Sky was drab and dreary in Crescent City, so we visited the understory of some coast redwood forest. I plan to return anyway in a few weeks, with a flexible schedule, and want to do some Part II with some beach or lighthouse and hopefully clear sky.

With all due respect bobbyz, we are paid to photograph, advise and lead, not play God. And "the black dress that she is wearing doesn't go well with green trees, grass and the park back ground" OPINION is nothing more than personal taste or style. The OP captured a good image, one that I'm sure the client was happy with, which at the end of the day, is all that matters. You are a fantastic photographer, but I respectfully disagree with you on this one. Since coming back to the forums here, I've read many of your "responses", and I would really like to see more "advice" from great photographers like yourself, more so than interjecting the SUBJECTIVE, personality based choices. Maybe it's just the way the keyboard "sounds". Maybe that is your advice. If so, I apologize, it just seems condescending most of the time.

Not sure what he's talking about either. People on here are sometimes pretty aggressive with their advice then duck and run when questioned. Keen to know too, I NEED to get started in HSS and ditch my Alien Bee's I think..

Willie Patterson from Franklin Pierce HS, Tacoma, Wa.. Recent USA Today Prep athlete of the week. Last game, senior night, Willie ran for five TD's and passed for three more in a 52-35 win over rival Washington Patriots. He threw for 3,115 yards and 35 touchdowns last season.

I noticed you haven't gotten a reply yet, so I thought I would share what I use. I have fallen in love with the Godox lights and have switched all of my speedlights and portable lighting to Godox lights. I use this one for location shooting:

It has TTL but I've never used it, I have used HSS and it is very easy and very reliable. Also use it with the Godox X1 transmitter, the light has the receiver built in.
