love it. I think this is better than the Orbis. I was sure I was gonna get the Orbis until I saw this. This really does make a ring flash + softbox...... :o I would never buy the huge and hideous Orbis aluminum arm......

I wonder if "the Strobist" will ever do a review on this. He currently uses the Orbis for filling in shadows (not his key light). I have a feeling this could be even better than the Orbis.. I almost caved and bought the Orbis today, though.. It has a nice, small form factor.

i, too, think RoundFlash is interesting. i also like the RayFlash for its power efficiency, but the dead spot it has can be an issue sometimes.

I think the general consensus among reviews is that the Orbis is better than the Ray flash. Not only is it universal, it's larger and produces softer light. The Ray flash is a little bit more convenient, though..

yes, it is softer. Orbis has its strong selling points. i like it, too :). however, it looses 3 f-stops over RayFlash. that's heck of a lot :D

what is the farthest distance you'd use a ring flash for fill? 15 feet from your ray flash?
