First time to get out in weeks. I went to the place where I found some male Anna's but maybe because of the new condos being built, they were nowhere to be found. But I saw a small movement around the bushes and saw this tiny beauty very busy eating bugs. Then I saw a sign just beside it, and the sign says "Mosquito magnet at work". Very nice :)

All shots with Canon 7D and Canon EF 400mm f/5.6

I went to a nature park because I heard this male Anna's is a frequent visitor.

Great stuff, Jo. I'm surprised the Anna's is hanging out through the winter, even in Lotusland!

Good shooting, Jo; I like the hummer and anytime you can see the crest on the little kinglet is a treat. Well done.

Nice kinglets, especially with the crown so visible. Damn that branch in front of your otherwise striking eagle shot.

Thanks Ian, whats more suprising is people are seeing more Anna's. A birder spotted about 12 Anna's in 1 tree, isnt that amazing? :)

Thanks Al, it was a bit of a challenge because the ligth is coming from the back, so I was careful not to have blown background.

Thanks Chris! Now I would like to see if anyone here can pp that eagle shot and clone out that branch :)

Very nice shots. The kinglets are adorable-they've been a favorite of mine since I tried to save an injured one I found(lost cause, headwound from a BB gun, but couldn't bring myself to finish the little guy off). As for the eagle, it's awesome. I also see what looks to be a middle toe. Death glare AND flipping you off.

Thanks Shack. So sad to hear what happened to the kinglet, who would shoot such beautiful birds? Grrr. LoL about your middle toe comment, its so true. I was so happy the he was giving me excellent poses, and he was probably giggling inside looking at the moron taking his pictures :)

Awesome Jo.
I agree with everyone else, this is a great set.
The kinglet is special because you got the crown.
The bald eagle looks menacing.
