Hi Everyone,
Im completely new to posting on a forum so excuse any nervous twitters:)

anywyas i got a G3 a few weeks ago after my old SLR was nicked. taken a few pics and I love the camera, here are a few macro pics I took
http://groups.msn.com/TheVisualWorld/shoebox.msnw (external link)
I think that link should work

Anywyas my main point is I'd like some advice on tripod rapid release mechanisms. I have a SLIK U212 deluxe tripod. I have no problem screwing the camera onto the thread and using it but have no idea how the quick release mechanism is supposed to work, is there another part I need?
Is there another plate that screws into the camera and pops into the tripod?
some enlightenment would be very welcome,
cheers

Not really familiar with the U212, but I understand that it comes with the QR plate. Double check that the QR plate (threaded) is not already installed on the tripod. Otherwise, you should just have the release handle/lever. There may also be a safety or security button or pin that has to be pressed before the release will activate.
