With 10.4.4 update I can now load and see my 350D RAW images in iPhoto and preview.

Mac people may want to try Adobe's Light Room RAW converter which is available as a free beta version now. Elie / אלי

RAW conversions are done at the OS level for many apps, including iPhoto and Aperture. 3rd party conversions are often better, such as the ones from C1 and Adobe ACR, etc. --
