Morning all

Went to Lydden yesterday for their first drift day of 2013 and for my first use of a 100-400 purchased off these forums. Was rather smokey at times which made it impossible to see let alone take photos as the picture below shows. Is nice to have abit more focal length but my jolly is it hard to get cars drifting at 400 :D. Have also recently purchased flickr pro and set up a Facebook page at the following url's: http://flic.kr/ps/2pT9En (external link) and www.facebook.com/MaximumRevsPhotography (external link).

#1 - Nice!

#2 - Look at dat panning! Well done!

#3 - I think it would've been a great shot if that guy's facial expression expressed excitement or exhilaration. Pretty cool sparks.

#4 - I see nothing but grey...

#5 & 6 - Great panning again! Love those sparks!

Do you shoot RAW? If not, I recommend you to do so and to try out the post processing software that comes in the same box as your DSLR--it's called DPP. Give it a go, shooting RAW and doing your own post processing (instead of letting the camera do it by itself) will allow you fine tune the image (contrast, brightness, saturation, sharpness, etc.) to your liking.

Dex,

nice start, not tried shooting drifting (the dust is bad enough when cars go through the kity litter at knockhill).

Stick with the 7D/100-400 combo. I've had mine for a while and still getting to grips with it.

With all that smoke it is hard to decide how much to push the contrast/black.
