Here attending a conference focussed on juvenile justice and mental health. Opening session featured Mrs. Laura Bush:

I only had my 85/1.8...once in you couldn't leave...so these are pretty significantly cropped and upsized. Enjoy.

Nice shots! Good thirds in #2. I like the irony of some watchfull eyes catching some watchfull eyes. haha Isn't it amazing how many SS guards are present? I had a chance to see the pres speak here in Tampa when he was campaigning for Jeb and I believe we counted at least 17 around the stage.

Interesting event with loads to chat about -its an endless subject... but what is that she's wearing? I may be a hick, but it looks some left over drapes you see in a classy restaurant or hotel. Is this the formal-informal look?

Nice clear captures with good color. I like the framing. It must have been difficult shooting and you've made the light look very good.

Someone on her staff probably thought the outfit she had on was too bland and so gave her a scarf to add texture to her blandness. Being a woman, you notice those things. Now, IMO, a nice large piece of jewelry would have sufficed. I don't know what look she was aiming for, but she missed. Sorry. :)

Yes, she was "off the mark" in that way and perhaps others...

So, here is my collage ala Dwight: http://evanscottphotography.com/dc/lbseries/collage.jpg (external link)

I was gonna say something about society lady fashion industry... but when I thought of that I thought of Abilene women in the movie "Last Picture Show" by ... Polanski? Starred Cybil Sheppard and... was so quirky and arty!

Anyway if it was a sweater it would be metro-sexual / pink look. "Ooooo!"

Thanks! No special technique, though.

#5 is *very* nice.
Some CC: I like the expression in #1, but the composition could be better. I'ld crop of the bottom of #2 to make it 'landscape'. Pity you 'beheaded' the kid in #3 and (specially) #4

Thanks...the composition and cropping (presentation) were tade-offs on the upsizing I did to "zoom" in on the main subjects...I agree with your critique. With more time perhaps I would have blurred the BG...I had hoped a narrow dof would have been more evident, but these BG kid images were HUGE, so even at wider aperture they were still quite focused. Alas, these were processed more for sharing versus compositional display...in the end I wish I had had a different lens. I am without a 70-200/2.8 right now, which would have been ideal...figures!
