Mirror Lake View - Yosemite

Here is another shot taken by my wife Pat during our trip to Yosemite.
She doesn't think she is good at this. I disagree.

It's very nice, of course. You should have leveled it for her. I can see you'll have to get her a camera, as I recently had to do for my wife.

Oops Stan, your right I should have leveled the horizon. I am trying to convince her to let me get her into this hobby. (Shhh! I would have someone to hand down equipment to)

Pat, this is an incredible shot. I think you may want to look into this "photography thing" a little more, you have an excellent eye for it. Keep it up.............Joe

nice. the only time we where over at Mirror Lake it was getting dark, so I've some pretty moody dark shots from there.
Also, as that photos demonstrates, I noticed a lot of plane contrails in the sky while we were there. I actually overheard one of the Rangers talking about how they'd like to have planes not fly over the park as they felt it was destroying the view to some degree.

Very nice.......beautiful! And, of course the 2nd one is much better!

Duder, one of the things that keeps me going back to Yosemite and returning to the same spot over and over again when I am up there is that the weather changes the mood of the view dramatically. The "range of light" thing to quote Ansel Adams is incredible there.

I agree with duder that the contrails are ruining this shots.
I find the reflection of them distracting in the water. They look like fallen trees to me.
I feel that getting airlines to change path for photographers is a next to imposible task though.

I know this location very well! Very nice shot Pat! My only nit would be to have your husband tone down the slightly over-exposed sky. Still a great image!

well, Yosemite gets a good few million visitors each year, and most of them are 'photographers' of some description, so if enough complain, maybe they can be convinced.

You know, I agree with the comtrails ruining the sky portion of our photographs. When I was there I saw no only the trails but the planes way up making them. One thought being obsessed about photos was... Gee how would Yosemite Valley look like from up there. What a great shot that would be.... think about it.
