Hello,

I am still new in the Photography world, and am looking for some hopefully positive.. constructive criticism. My husband has no idea how to help me this way, so I am reaching out to fellow photographers to see if you guys could give me some pointers. Thank you so much.

Here is my blog with my photo galleries on the left hand side. I can not seem to figure out how to post them right on this thread. Thank you so much for your help.

First thing I would do it find a photo hosting site other than Facebook. Facebook does a pretty bad job of compressing photos and they are less than flattering. And if you are looking to do something a little more professional, either get your own hosting service or use one that does a better job of providing full sized photos for your potential customers to view.
As a business man (not related to photography) appearing professional is the most important thing you can do to gain more customers.

Hi Julie, Looks like your having fun, keep doing that.

Many of the portraits I viewed were not sharp, usually when the eyes are soft it's caused by camera
shake. Start using a tripod and make it your friend. Eyes also need to have light in them, fill flash, a reflector, seeing the light and placing the subject where you want. Learning to pose and good rules of portraiture are a must, just like hand placement.

Check out this video. I learned a lot from it, maybe you will too!

It's worth the 1 hour watch, or at least watch the end because it has some of the best advice I've ever heard.
