I love the second shot a lot :) cats are so fun to shoot :) can't wait to see what creativeness I can get up to with a prime lens :)

btw how do you find the 85 as a lens for shooting pets?

It also really depends on what body you have. On a crop like the 7d it is definitely pretty long for indoor/pets, but cats tend to stay still long enough to frame a shot.

Excellent 2nd shot. I agree on the 85 not being the best for indoor/outdoor pets, but I could see it working well for cats.

I had one and sold it because it just wasn't a good focal length for dogs. Too close for indoor head shots and too far for outside work.

That being said, it was my favorite lens for taking outdoor shots of my daughters... but the dogs took priority apparently ;)
