I just bought a 350d because it is the only canon within my budget, would have loved to get a 20d. I searched and searched and could not get one within my price range. Anyway I only have the camera and 2 basic lenses. One is the kit lense 18-55 and a 70-300. Figured this would be a good place for a person only 2 months into the hobby to start.

This is one of the first shot I took. Please feel free to critique it, I can use all the help I can get.

Welcome to the forums. You are in for some fun with that camera.

I've been looking at this image for a while now. The light is good and it seems reasonably sharp. Not really anything 'wrong' but I would have moved in on him more. There is nothing of value (at least to my eye) in the surrounding stuff.

I checked your site and really like some of your work. I like closeups of people, real closeups.

I agree, I definitely would have zoomed in on him more to remove distractions.

Good shot.
I like it.
Good luck with the camera and welcome to POTN.

I can't create beauty with my camera, I can only capture it.
