Yep and am pleased with it, they only problem is you get vignetting when you zoom right back, I use the Canon adaptor, not sure if other adaptors stop this.

The telephoto lens, along with the Adapter ring, was the first accessory I bought for the G3. I love it, and have some GREAT images from it.

Unfortunatly, my main website is down (ticket open) but here is a couple other ones I have...

This guy was way across the pen. Love his pose...

Another one where regular zoom just didnt cut it.

I like the results I have gotten with the telephoto lens. Here is one final shot I got using the Remote Capture software to help...

Hope this helps.

PS: I am also going to get the Canon Wide Angle lens as well. I have always been a believer that you cannot go wrong with equipment made especially for your camera. Sometimes you will pay a little more, but I would rather buy the right equipment once, than buy a replacement. Only exception is the Flash...

These are some great shots!!! I bought this also but have had NO time to play with it. I was wondering if you got these shots with or without the use of a tripod. Thanks!

Only the shot of the Moon was taken with a tripod. The eagle and the lemur were taken by hand without the use of a tripod. I took them at the local zoo.

The moon shot was my first real attempt to work with the capability of the RemoteCapture software on my laptop. There is a lot of potential with it to take some great images in a studio or macros or limited astrophotography (when coupled with the G3 Telescope eyepeice adapter) by allowing camera setting changes without touching the camera and moving it by accident.

Have fun with yours. My next purchase is going to be the telescope adapter. http://www.scopetronix.com/dtsystems.htm (external link)

In fact, it doesn't change the aperture settings nor the time value (believe it or not). Of course you have a slightly reduced DOF, but still plenty of it due to the fact that these digicams have lots of DOF. On the other hand, if you want to take a portrait shot with a blurred background you can combine the tele plus the macro. The longest zoom you'll get is 245mm calculated on a 35mm camera.
