So I was taking a walk on that golf course trying to shoot geese in flight when I saw this guy flying nearby with something dangling from his claws - after missing a few hasty / shaky / too-far-away shots in flight, I saw him land in a tree about 200 yards away.
I approached carefully and could reach a higher vantage point than my initial position with - additional luck! - the sun in my back.
This Red Tail must not be too afraid by humans since a jogger passing under his tree did not disturb him and he then let me shoot about 80 pics without missing a bite... From other pics where the nose of the prey is visible, it seems to have been a squirrel.
Nice conclusion of a day that had started with an empty memory card from a first walk in the morning :)
Thanks for looking; C&C welcome.

6. A noisy group is coming; 15 s. later he takes off with his lunch and goes somewhere where he can finish it without disturbance.

:) Sir, with your permission I'd like to keep them up here to get rid of mine first...

Great shots, great catch for you and the RTH. Birds are known to ignore people passing by, walking or jogging, the moment people stops, birds surely will fly away. :)

... does it really matter?i see with my eyes, i shoot with my fingers.

Thank you. This one let me stop close by without minding; but the noisy group of passerby's was too much for him.
I remember another RTH who did not allow me to approach closer than four times the distance this one allowed, even though he was perched far higher, at least 50 ft high - but I was moving noisily on a bed of dried leaves and wood...
