Hey guys,

Last time i used this lens was about 6 months ago but remember being not quite happy about the sharpness when taking family photos, had it on auto plus family was taking shots too. Dont have them to share anymore but i thought i get back into snapping pics again today so went to the zoo with the 24-70L lens to test it out again.

I shot mostly using 1 Manual Single Af point, All pics have been imported to lightroom. First image is full shot and 2nd is cropped.

I also put up other shots that were the best i took today and even few shots of the chart lens test shot.)

Edit: for the tiger, the lcd focus point shows right in the middle of the eyes.
*For squirel looking guy, the 3 images focus points were nose tip to under the neck IMG_3500 IMG_3492 IMG_3490
*For squrel family, guy on the right, ear focus. IMG_3383
*the rams shot, the front ram right in the eye. IMG_3404-2
*Kangaroo looking thing, in the eye. IMG_3414

How is that not sharp...?

Having said that, it's ISO500 on a 7D...

lot of factors to consider. Not just what focus point did you use, but where was it in your image? This to me is the biggest missing information, and without it, there isn't much to go on. For Tiger, what and where? I clicked the link, a couple are soft, a couple are not.

Hey thanks for the quick replies, i edited my post to include some focus points information for pictures. for the tiger, it was right in the middle between the eyes.

My 24-70 on my 7D required some MA. Can't hurt to adjust it a little and do some test shots.
