I was down at my neighborhood camera store today... and my favorite salesman pointed out this lens called a "lens baby". The whole point is to have impressionists like photo's...wondering if anybody has heard anything about it, or better yet who has one and if you like it or not???
thanks, Sari.

I wonder if this is a burning or blurring technique. Photoshop instead?

Just googled it b/c I've never heard of it either  But some sample images appeared blurred and contrasty.

its a blurring technique, where you can move the focus point around manual, acts kind of like a slinky.??? But, some of the photos i've seen with it are incredible.. atleast in my opinion. wondering if it's as tricky to use as it seems to be, I was playing with it in the camera store for about twenty minutes and was completely clueless. but for 130 bucks it could be a lot of fun for macro like shots. Anyway, my curiosity was completely piqued... Sari.

I saw someone shooting with it once and he said he really liked it. I never got to see any of the pics, though, so I can't say how they looked.

They're kinda' cool. I've seen shots taken with them and, while they're not something I'd leave on my camera all the time, I could see having one for an occasional shot, just for the "fun" factor.

Plus, they're not all too expensive, either...

I was thinking that instead of getting a macro lens, I could get one of these. I don't shoot macro often, but occasionally I do like it and since my pro 1 is no more my plan for using it for macro is gone. So, it's between the lensbaby, or a macro. I think I could have some fun with this I just want to know if it's practical, wrong word, not practical but if I can manipulate it to do what I want, how big is the learning curve I guess.... sari.

ok not for nothing, but i id see a tutorial on how to get the lens baby effect in photoshop. it looked like it would take a grand total of about 30 seconds to replicate. i do agrre taht it would be fun to play with one of these though.
