i'd like to get a lensbaby at some point, I've seen some incredible shots and kow a few people that have them. I just keep putting it off in favor of other things - lenses, flash, camera upgrade...but in reality, they arent too expensive. I think they still have some of the lensbaby 1.0 left at a discount too.

this is a 'predecessor' variation : )

you can also see some similar devices here:

these produce some excellent pictures. oh and here are 2 (lame?) efforts from me trying something similar in PS with selective lens blur:

I did try to use a lensbaby in a shop, but the salesperson rushed me too much that I could not get a good impression of it : ((

The pictures you can make with these lenses are really cool, but have you noticed how they mess your eyes if you look at the out of focus part of the image?

Just for the fun and creativity of using it I would like to have one. I know a couple of people who have them and some of the results are amazing. Over use on any one client and it could be kind of cheesy but done right they do offer some very nice effects for certain wedding shots and also add to the cool factor for seniors.

good thoughts... I was thinking along those lines. Just for the 'fun' factor of it. I don't think it's something that would be used everyday or every shoot for that matter. but the affects are neat and it is fun to play with. Sari.
