Ok, I have my equipment sorted out finally(I think). I finally ended up with a Gripped 50D(w/4 extra batteries), EF-S 17-85mm(will change to the 15-85 after I save up some more money), EF 70-200 F4 L, 50mm 1.8, 2- 420ex speedlites(got a good deal), Yongnuo wireless trigger, lens filter kits, Black Rapid R-7, and Canon 200 bag to carry all my toys. I think that is about all I am going to need for now to look like I might know what I'm doing(if you can't shoot for crap @ least look the part). My wife says I'm driven her bonkers over the last 6 months. I told her that is what I'm here for. :) I would like to thank everyone for their advice, insight and patience dealing with me over the last month. Well, I going out to pray and spray now. Thanks again!

You've put together a really nice kit. I appreciate that you're focusing now on shooting and not GAS...cause man this place can give it to you! :)

Beat it, I doubt it. Culled it considerably, most likely. ;)

I can actually help cut a little more: you don't need 4 extra batteries for the 50d, unless you're planning on a 4 day hike away from power. I used to shoot a whole wedding on 2. I suggest you get 1 extra battery now, and see how it goes

I should clarify the 4 batteries. I have 4 total. 2 for the grip and 2 spares.

Yep, I got that. 2 batts should give you >1500 shots

But when both batteries in the grip go dead in the middle of something, it's nice to have others charged and ready.

Take your wife with you on one of your shoots. Maybe she'll get into the hobby. Mine loves to go out with me when I shoot.

Canon Deluxe 200 EG. Nice little compact bag holds all my stuff and still some room for more. Ooops, there I go again. I need more gear to finish filling my bag, it has empty pockets still.
