It was an early thing with DVD that some DVD copies didn't read on all other drives.

I still see this issue every now and again.

Were you looking for recommendations on a specific brand/model? From the way you worded your OP it sounded more like you were seeking advice as to whether or not blu-ray backup should be used at all.

I liked to hear both or all opinions (I love pain) on the subject. Most of my backups are on HDD's some on DVD's that need to be put on a HDD. I do like the idea of having both HDD and DVD/Blu Ray as backups. Seeing as I seem to crash my computers and/or drives too often and don't always get everything back on the new computer or HDD.:oops: Besides, I can keep the DVD in a different location for safety. This seems like a good way to go, at least on paper anyway.:confused:

Suggestions welcome.
