Okay. So my mind is made up to sell the 18-200, as it is way too soft and not very fast.

I would like the following: a 12-24 (ish), 24-70(ish) and 70-300 (ish). I have my eye on the Canon 70-300 IS USM, but I will not buy that now until I have need (vacation). The 24-70 may have to wait for now (as the car needs drive shafts) and I would like to know your recommends (L series a bit out of reach).

Then we come to the ultra wide (which I found myself needing at the weekend), Canon is way too expensive but what about the others, Tokina seems to be well liked here? BUT they seem to be unavailable on most sites at the moment?
Thanks.

I like the Tokina, it's a good lens, and built like a tank. It makes lovely colors, and for a wide lens it's pretty sharp. For 24-70 go Sigma. For long, no idea sorry.

Um. A POTN boolean search on "Sigma 15-30" turns up 17 pages of hits. I've spoken favorably of mine on numerous occasions here.
