We have a large snow storm forecast for tomorrow, Feb 21 so the birds were very busy today eating their fill or storing food. Even had a large Tom turkey stop by but was not prepared to get a shot.

Harris's Sparrow, now have many of these coming in to feed.

Male Cardinal, they keep coming in when light is nearly gone.

Believe this to be a Hairy Woodpecker, it spent most of his time carrying food and packing it into the old Blacksmith Forge that is in my yard. He drove the seeds in so tight I don't know if they will be easy to get out later.

Nice ones Steve. Looks like you got in really close. Nice color on that cardinal. Looks to me like a Downy woodpecker. Interesting what he is doing with the seeds. To bad about the Tom. Hopefully he will show up again. He would look pretty good in your new snow.:D

Very nice Steve, hope you don't get too much snow! That is pretty interesting with the Woodie, I think it's a Hairy too, kind of hard to see the beak but I always go with the sppots or no spots on the tail. The Cardinals here are the same way, always the last ones at the feeder, almost to darkness, then it's like the old Walton's show, they all start peeping back and forth from the bamboo patch, G'nite Mary Ellen, night John boy!
Grea job.

Nice photos. Thanks for sharing! I found them so interesting because I really love birds. :) By the way, with regards to preparing for a storm, many people say better safe than sorry. Get the things you want when a storm caution is shown to you. If you end up stuck in your home or without electricity for a couple of days, you will want a few things. It is worth the payday loan (external link) to make sure you have candles, blankets and food.
