Today, I decided to challenge myself by photographing my Scolopendra alternans. The centipede is 7 inches long from tip to tip (5" body length), and very very fast! The longest it ever sat still in the 2 hours I photographed it was for 5 seconds.
Not to mention, it is a very shiny animal...making using a flash very challenging. I ended up keeping fewer than 6% of my shots in the end.
I shot these at F/20 !!!
