I forgot to post this here -- it popped up yesterday on Facebook:

Yesterday, Feb 19th, marks the 6th "Birthday" of Lightroom -- it was released on Feb. 19th 2007!

Adobe has also proclaimed the day as the 10th birthday of Camera Raw, although the date details are a bit "smudgy" -- the earliest versions came out a bit earlier, but still, celebrating 10 years of Camera Raw and 6 years of Lightroom!

It is interesting to note that the Shadowland project that became Lightroom was started by Mark Hamburg as early as 2002, although it apparently took some time for him to convince Thomas Knoll that it was a serious candidate for a new Adobe product. Still, the fact that it was 4 years to the first Mac only beta in 2006 and nearly another year to general release is an indication of how much work goes into a program.

Yeah, It seems like it was a combination -- original developmement vs Pixmantex, but to us it's all good!
