Hey guys,

Thinking of buying the 70-200 f/4 L today. It's new for rougly $790 (converted from SEK)
As always i been reading and watching every review i can find and also seen photos from you users.
The lack of IS doesent bother me (been shooting with primes for a year) nor does the constant f/4.

I'm after buildquality, sharpness, fast AF and a good focalrange for a decent price.

Good choice?

If you can spend the extra money get the IS version as I have heard it is definitely a notch above the non IS in terms of image quality but you really wont go wrong with either one. Not knowing what you shoot I cant really recommend it but I love my non IS. Very sharp at f/4, produces great bokeh, great build, fast AF.

All in all it is a great lens.

You mentioned that the price converted from SEK is $790, however in the US you can get this lens for roughly $674 (like at amazon, for example). So I wonder if you can get a slightly lower price on the deal? That's almost $100 difference even if you take into account the variation in exchange rates, so it might be worth looking into before jumping in :) I do not personally own this lens so I cannot really recommend or dissuade anyone, but having used this lens during a friend's photoshoot I can attest to the focal range and sharpness. Oh and the build quality is nothing to sneeze at either! ;)

This is my next lens! And I have a 2.8 Mk II, the F4 is awesome. I love it, the build, weight and IQ is outstanding.

Very good choice!
