If you could, please take a look at my new(er) website and please post both positive and negative critiques for me to look over. I've recently transformed my whole website into a blog rather than my old, outdated SmugMug site.

Here are my thoughts:

1) I'd lose that honey comb background. It's not very pleasant.
2) Most of your gallery doesn't have the thumbnail picture. At least, it's not loading for me. It's just a box hatched with diagonal lines.
3) When I click on your gallery, it takes me to zenfolio. Then, when click on your name or "home", it gets all screwy.

Are you using your website for a business? It looks like an online blog with photos, but I'm also seeing pricing information. If you are pushing this into a business, then your website should reflect that. Comments look like they are displaying the email address of the commenter (that will invite spamming of your commenter and discourage future comments). And it looks like you need to pick the display photo for the galleries since they currently don't have one.

Also, if someone is going to your website, let them see photos right away, not a photo of you.

The site is not bad, it is easy to navigate around loads fast. As others pointed out you have no thumb nails of your photos.

One thing I did notice is your writing style is more conversational in style than professional. While it may be totally fine in your blog posting on your site, it is not the type of phrasing that one would expect in a business website.

For Example: From your Pricing Page (first Paragraph)
From little league, to professional athletics, I have taken still and action portraits of every sport from every angle. I have the ability to offer to take stunning in action portraits, as well as memorable team and individual portraits. If you would like me to offer my services to your team, league, or school contact me and we can discuss further details.

This paragraph is very disjointed, maybe have someone read over your content with the mindset of a potential customer, and suggest some wording changes.

Still overall, it is better than a lot of pages I have seen out there, and a good start.

Good Luck.

If it's a blog to share information with fellow photographers then it's great, but if it's for potential clients I don't like it.

As a client I don't want to read all that stuff, I just want to see galleries of your work.
Clean and simple sells better.

100 bucks for a portrait session.
Unlimited time and clothing/setting changes.

Wow. That comes off very undervalued. Customer's assume that it is due to skill level.

If you are going to do this, post ads on craigslist for free headshots to build your portfolio.

You will get more business.... and an equally important amount of practice.

I do very little portrait work simply due to the fact that I am flooded with dozens of youth teams every month. I'm offering portrait session fee's at 100/a pop merely because I can. As, a junior in high school.....I know firsthand that there are all kinds of expenses to graduate. I don't know about you, but I consider myself a qualified photographer at this point, and I'm not going to let one's opinion or outlook on the youth in today's society being me down. I'm not trying to come off as a punk, just trying to share my viewpoint of the situation.
