Took the photo with my 20D, which is being slid into back-up camera, when the wife isn't using it.

There is something about hearing your camera shooting 8.5 frames a second.

Congratulations and good luck! After using the 5D II and 40D, i decided on getting a 1D II to use while shooting in rain and heavy humidity and loved the build quality and FPS!!!! Great camera. The only thing i didn't like about it was the way the buttons were setup, where you have to press 2 buttons at one time to use features which was really really annoying when shooting my job. If you don't mind that, this camera is a STEAL at a few hundy

Congrats.. I just sold my 5D2 and I'm also in the market for a 1D series. You can't beat a Pro body.

I just finally sold my last 1D2 for $380 on eBay a few weeks ago. They served me well for many years and I put about 200,000 clicks on them.
Just keep in the mind the screen is crap and your photos actually look much better than how it shows up. Check your histogram instead of the screen presentation.

OT - But your name "James Durbin" reminds me of the American idol's James Durbin.

this just shows how much things have changed. For those of us who were shooting early DSLRs it never occurred to us to use the screen for anything BUT the histogram and menus!

Now I have a screen on my phone that would make a 2001 photo editing workstation jealous!

Congrats on the MkII. It's a fantastic camera, and still just as good as anything I've used for tracking birds in flight.

Tracking birds in flight? This was the first shot taken with it this morning. I wish I'd had the shutter speed just a bit faster, though...

This one wasn't in flight, but still...

It's pretty good at reaching into brown twigs and finding the little brown bird you want a photo of...
