the usual brands like lowepro/kata are out of the stylish league, and i've heard of domke/billingham as well - are there other unique options i can consider for under 150usd? just need to put in a 6d body, 2lenses, and 1 bottled water.

messenger style, minimalist (but no boring black!) preferred.

p.s. : i'm also looking for a cushion/padding that can wrap around the handle for the hands (not shoulder pad), but can't seem to find any on ebay. perhaps i'm not using the right keywords - anyone can guide me? :D

TIA!

You could try Korea-made camera bags from Herringbone and Ciesta.

Check out the Courser canvas bags. If they're not available in your local stores, you can find them on the 'Bay (external link).

Member bent toe did a review on the F1002 model.

I bought the khaki colored F1002 model, it looked the right size for me. It is quite sturdy and well-built, especially considering the price point. If you like those canvas-y style messenger bags you should definitely check these out.

This is well under $150, it also comes in khaki and olive, messenger, very durable, stealthy and rugged. I've been using mine for over a month now and even had a handle and buckle installed locally:

Well, stylish means a lot of things to a lot of people. The good news, is your not asking to carry a lot.

I would recommend buying one of these, and putting it in any messenger bag you like.

Excellent choice for an insert - I have the orange version which is used in conjunction with my Rapid Dominance messenger bag.

If style is important, check out the ONA Union Street. I have one and it would fit everything you said perfectly :) I have the ranger tan version, but it comes it black and smoke gray as well. Only problem is that it isn't $150, but I've found people tend to be okay with going over budget if they truly like something, which you might.

I happen to have reviewed it on my site if you want to take a look: http://www.erickjosephphotography.com/ona-union-street-review/ (external link)

wow guys, didn't expect so many options laid out here! so far, i think getting the dslr inserts seems like the best option to me. i'm thinking of putting it into my manhattan portage messenger bag :)

has anyone tried this brand (Matin) before? seems to be cheap and versatile :

i'm also looking for a cushion/padding that can wrap around the handle for the hands (not shoulder pad), but can't seem to find any on ebay. perhaps i'm not using the right keywords - anyone can guide me? :D

Yes - there are a lot of options out there ;).

It's hard to say about your ebay referenced insert. I don't know what you Manhattan Portage looks like but it appears the ebay insert has a very large flap on one side. This would not be optimal for my Rapid Dominance as the flap would get in the way. The (orange) insert I bought for the RD has a flap that is sufficiently narrow to allow easy access through the zipper on the top. It's perfect.

The Union Street is WAY too big for what the OP wants to carry, but they are quite stylish. I have one myself but use my Billingham Hadley Pro more often because the Union Street is quite a bit heavier and bulkier than the Hadley Pro.

To the OP, while I would happily recommend ONA and Billingham, I think they're really far out of your price range for what you're looking to carry. I would try, as others have mentioned, Timbuk2's camera bag or a photography insert of some kind.

Just adding one more to bewilder the OP with choices!

http://www.amazon.com …ywords=gecko+shoulder+pad (external link)

Don't know whether it can hold all the gear that OP mentioned, though.
