I think if you check the histogram you'll see there is little or no high clipping in the photo. Sometimes subjects in an image, like white ice, simply have no detail to bring out. I used a 5D with a Canon 300mm f4 L IS and the 1.4X Canon extender, ISO 50, 1.6 second exposure at f40, the EXIF data is included with the file. Ron
