This was a good day since, in addition to the first-time Owl I posted a short while back, this was also the first day I could shoot a Bald Eagle (I actually shot two, this one is the best of both).
Like for the Owl, I only had the 70-200 mm with Kenko X2, and the in-flight shots will have to wait another opportunity - but I am happy all the same.
Thanks for looking, C&C welcome.

1. Balling his right claw... (?)

Not bad at all, especially since you were shooting through a 2X. Balling up the foot is probably like us making a fist to relieve tension. My hands get stiff if I hold tools too lokg in an awkward position, I'd imagine eagles get the same issue in their feet-they do serve the purpose of both hands AND feet after all. They get used pretty hard. Interesting pose in any case.

That's what I imagine... I have a pic of a Hawk doing more or less the same thing - here:

I envy you. I never have a chance to get a bald eagle pictures, we don’t have any here in the North TX area.
I think you have done a very good job. I love the bald Eagle super.

Thank you. Local birders directed me to that place on the Hudson River; nothing like local knowledge :)

Nice shots. Where along the Hudson did you take these?

Croton Point County Park. That's also where I saw the Owl and the Nuthatch I posted today. I am pretty sure I saw a Red Tail Hawk when I was leaving, plus an unidentified, smaller raptor in a patch of wood. There must be some shore birds as there are areas of reeds / mud, but in a short time I could only see a few Mallards. An interesting place, although I suspect it's crowded in Summer (lots of picnic places and areas for RVs and tents...).

Yeah, that's where I thought. I've gotten Bald Eagles and that Barred Owl there too from your other thread.
