Sitting at the computer processing photos taken with my new Canon 1D, glass of wine at my side, wife knitting on the couch.

Very down home feeling.

The cat, however, is not impressed...

Endlessly. He likes being fed too much to carry through the plots, though. It's a bit like living with Pinky and the Brain locked in one cat body.

My wife just finished directing a production of Moon Over Buffalo. Your cat reminds me of a couple of lines in there - basically, Richard says he's living with his cat, who has a thyroid problem; then goes on to say that the cat was so big that he had some guests over and they thought he'd gotten another sofa.

Sounds like you're living the dream ChromeLibrarian. Squishy cats need love too. I have a huge cat myself although she's a Maine Coon cat so she's not fat, just freakishly huge...and hairy..and she drools and wags her tail and plays fetch. She's pretty awesome. :)

Does he drool, wag his tail, and play fetch? Actually, after reviewing his picture I should rephrase...did you used to play fetch? I don't know about the first two but I've heard that the fetch thing is a trait of Maine Coons. He and my cat look NOTHING alike but I suspect they spend about 18 hrs of their day involved in the same favorite pastime.

Yes, he plays fetch - when he feels like it. Actually, when we got him, he was in the obese category. Now, he's down to overweight.

This made me laugh! Good for him on his weight-loss. Maybe he'll be inclined to play fetch more often now that he's trimmer.
